The SmartEar story
Sébastien Llorca is a young man who did his bachelor's degree at EDHEC, a business school in Nice. His project was to make life easier for the deaf and hard of hearing in homage to her aunt who is deaf and who felt very alone. He therefore thought about home automation, that is to say everything relating to the automated arrangements present in his home and invented SmartEar with the help of Cédric Sénéchal, who noticed that there were quotes that were too expensive and that home automation did not quite correspond to the needs of deaf people.
The SmartEar product
SmartEar is a smart ear that transforms sounds into “images” or more precisely, colored light. There is the “SeaForEar” which records every desired sound and associates it with a color. The person is accompanied by the “flash warning” where information will be sent from the “SeaForEar” and will then project a light of a certain color. For example, if the doorbell rings the light will be blue and so on. SmartEar has undergone a very interesting evolution for deaf couples. They can now call each other by tapping on the box. This will then send the information to the other person's device and emit a light which will indicate this to them. It is therefore very practical when, for example, in a house, one is on the first floor and needs his/her partner while the other is in the cellar.
Simple to use
There are different warning systems on the market which are quite complex and restrictive in terms of installation and from a financial point of view, whereas with SmartEar there is no longer any need for a multitude of devices , only one is enough with an electrical outlet for SmartEar and the rest via Bluetooth with the Smartphone.
